Why this site exists

I'd been meaning to build my own little blog for ages. Just for myself — and to have a place to share things of my own: thoughts, projects, findings.

But I never got around to it. Honestly, there was no reason to rent a server for a single page. Then recently I decided to build a small SaaS — and it hit me: it's time. The server is needed anyway, the domain is bought, so the blog shipped first.

Paper versus neon

Open any modern SaaS: dark-blue outer space, neon gradients, glass panels, glowing borders. Everything screams "the future is here" — and ten minutes later that future makes your eyes tired.

I wanted the opposite. Warm paper, ink, one quiet accent — and geometry: simple glyphs, registration crosses, dimension lines. Like a good blueprint: nothing extra, every mark carries meaning. I consider this design system my own — it deliberately stands against neon and epicness.

Three decisions

  1. No pure black or white — only ink on uncoated paper.
  2. Emptiness is a tool: a single book-width text column, generous margins.
  3. The accent color works like a period at the end of a sentence: rare and deliberate.
Python config.py
ACCENT = "#5d7052"  # moss

Coziness is when an interface doesn't claim your attention — it just lies within reach.
